About GarageDoorProHQ

GarageDoorProHQ does two things. It publishes what garage door work actually costs in 2026, and it lists the garage door companies operating in a given city. Both are free, and no business pays to be included or promoted.

Why it exists

Garage door repair is a trade where the customer is usually at their worst negotiating position. The door has failed, the car is stuck, it is often a weekend, and almost nobody knows whether $600 for a pair of springs is a fair price or double. The information asymmetry is the whole problem.

So the first thing this site publishes is the price. 5 guides cover what each job costs, what drives the number, and where the arithmetic tips from repair to replacement — plus a 15-term glossary so you can read the quote you are handed.

What we will and will not claim

Listings are compiled from public and openly licensed business data. A listing is not a recommendation. We do not rank businesses by quality, and we do not publish star ratings — not as an oversight, but because no data source we are legally permitted to republish contains any. That is explained in full in our editorial guidelines, along with the exact quality bar a listing has to clear.

In California, Florida and Arizona — the only three states that license garage door work as its own trade — some listings show a verified licence badge. We check licence numbers against the state register; we do not inspect workmanship. In the other 47 states there is no garage door register to check, and those pages say so plainly rather than leaving you to assume a check happened.

Where it is up to

852 listings across 84 cities in 4 states, every one with a working phone number. The directory is being built metro by metro rather than dumped nationally in one go, because a city page with two listings on it is not worth publishing.

Who writes it

GarageDoorProHQ is written and run by Chris, Founder & editor. The cost research is done in-house against contractor pricing, manufacturer documentation and trade sources, and every guide carries a visible last-updated date.

We are not garage door technicians and we do not pretend to be. What we do is research prices carefully, read the licensing rules properly, and say exactly how confident we are in each. Where the right answer is "call a professional", the page says that instead of walking you into a job that can break your arm.

How it is funded

Advertising, and in future affiliate arrangements. Neither affects which businesses appear or in what order — there is no mechanism for a business to pay us for placement, because we have not built one. If we ever have a commercial relationship that could reasonably change how you read a page, it will be disclosed on that page.

Corrections and contact

If a figure is wrong, a listing is out of date, or you own a listed business and want the entry corrected or removed, email contact@garagedoorprohq.com or use the contact page. We correct errors on the page rather than deleting them quietly.
